For over a decade, local lawn care
service owner, Dan Cheslock has taken
time to give something back to his
country.  Every year since 1996, he's
taken a crew of his employees from
Mountaineer Lawn Care to participate in
the "Renewal and Remembrance"
project at Arlington National Cemetery
and the Historic Congressional Cemetery.

Mountaineer Lawn Care is one of
about 200 landscape, tree service and
lawn care companies from across the
nation that travel to the cemeteries
and spend the day mulching, pruning,
liming, planting and aerating.  The
participating service providers are
members of PLANET, the Professional
Landcare Network.  Phil Fogarty, a
member who has helped organize the
event said, "Because these cemeteries
are of such size and scope, they need
our help.  This is an opportunity for us
to demonstrate our professional skills
and care for two important
American monuments."
As a whole the group tends to 270
acres of the cemetery.  "The
natural beauty and quiet grace of
Arlington make it a place that we
feel compelled to protect and take
care of," Fogarty said.
"This demonstrates our honor and
remembrance of America's
veterans and leaders."
