The Early Summer Application with Grub
Control
Please remember these tips during this
application...
1. Mow at a height of 3 inches from June
through September.
2. Never remove more than half of the
leaf blade in any one cutting.
3. Never mow a wet lawn.
4. Maintain a sharp cutting edge to avoid
shredding the grass.
5. Mow the lawn in different directions
each time. Watering can be done
immediately after and improves the
effectiveness.

Early Summer Application 2010
|
Customer question of the month:
|
What we're working on now....
|
Q: When will service be done on my lawn?
A. This is usually a tough question to answer because our service depends on several factors. First
and foremost we rely on the weather to tell us when we can work and what products we use. A
particularly dry and hot season can slow us down just as much as a rainy season because after all,
we don’t want to burn your lawn if temperatures skyrocket.
Secondly, we schedule your services in order to reach the most customers at one time. This basically
means that you will receive service earlier if many of your neighbors are customers too. (This is why
you can benefit in more ways than one by utilizing our referral discount.)
Many of customers request to be called before an application is applied which can also slow the
process when we can’t reach you.

White grubs are one of America’s most notorious lawn pests. Primarily found in areas east of the Rocky Mountains
and particularly troublesome in the northeastern United States, these tiny pests can cause severe damage and even
ruin an entire lawn. In fact, damage has become such a concern, consumers now spend more than $100 million
annually to control white grubs in the U.S. The key however, is early prevention and early Spring is a prime time to
begin preparing your plan of defense.
Grubs are the larval stage of hundreds of kinds of beetles including June or Japanese beetles.
White grubs live in the top few inches of soil and feed on the roots of lawn grasses. They feed on the roots of the grass
so the blades can easily be pulled up. White grubs are typically .5 to 1.5" long, milky white with a brown head and
almost always are curled into a "C" shape. Adult grubs can cause damage not only to the lawn but also roses, trees and
other plants around your yard. In addition, birds, moles, and skunks feed on grubs and can cause additional damage to
the lawn.
Our grub control is a potent and aggressive insecticide that is a proven product in combating these formidable pests.
Merit® is the longest lasting broad spectrum grub control product available. Both preventive and curative, Merit has
a 10-year record of 90% efficacy on virtually every species of grub, other turf and ornamental pest insects. It even
improves turf quality. Low use rate means low risk to you and other non-target organisms.
